Join Us - Lammas Celebration

Farm shop open from 10am
Farm Tour 11.30am - 1.30pm
Lammas Circles 2pm - 5pm

You’re warmly invited to join us on the farm this Saturday, 2nd August for a relaxed, family-friendly celebration of Lammas – the ancient festival of the first harvest.

Lammas (also known as Lughnasadh) is a time to pause and honour the first fruits of the season. Traditionally held on the first days of August, it’s a celebration of abundance, community, and gratitude. Across centuries, people have marked this moment by baking bread from the first grain, sharing seasonal food, gathering in circle, crafting wheat dollies and offering thanks to the land.

We’ll be keeping things simple and heart-led—a gentle gathering with songs, craft, food, and fire.

The day begins with:

11.30AM - 1:30PM

Farm Tour

Explore the foundation of true food sovereignty and the freedom it offers. Experience firsthand how we uphold the highest standards of small-scale farming, producing nutrient-dense food while regenerating the land in a truly sustainable way.

... and then, throughout the afternoon there will be:

Wheat & Corn Dolly Crafting

Join us in the afternoon to make your own wheat dolly—a beautiful, ancestral craft traditionally made during Lammas. These handmade straw figures were once believed to carry the spirit of the grain, woven from the sheaf of wheat and kept through the winter as a symbol of protection, fertility, and gratitude for the land. In spring, they would be returned to the soil to bless the next planting.

This hands-on, meditative activity is suitable for all ages. You’ll be gently guided through the process, weaving your own dolly to take home or offer back to the earth.

Bread-on-a-Stick Baking

Join us by the fire to bake your own bread the traditional way—wrapped around a stick and toasted over the flames. This is one of the oldest ways of celebrating Lammas, with the first harvest of the grains. Suitable for all ages, the flour will be organic, local and stonemilled.

Seasonal Food & Snacks

We'll be serving salads made with freshly harvested produce from the farm and there will be organic sourdough pizzas, quiches, sausage rolls and other snacks for sale throughout the day.

Simple Camping

We’re also offering the option to camp overnight in the woodland.
It will be wild and simple - just you, your tent, and the trees. We don’t yet have full facilities in place, but if you’re up for something rustic and peaceful, you’re warmly welcome to stay. Just respond to this email to let us know you'd like to stay.
