SATURDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER
10am - 4pm
You’re warmly invited to join us on the farm for a family-friendly celebration of the Autumn Equinox, a time of balance, gratitude, and community.
The Autumn Equinox marks the moment when day and night stand equal, a turning point from the energy of summer to the stillness of winter. For our ancestors, this was a sacred time to gather the final harvest, share in the abundance of the land, and prepare for the colder months ahead.
Traditionally, it’s a festival of balance and reflection, honouring both the light and the dark, celebrating what has been sown and what is yet to come. Communities would feast together, share the fruits of their labour, and give thanks for nature’s generosity.
We’ll be keeping things simple and heart-led: a relaxed gathering with seasonal crafts and activities, shared food, and a warm fire as we connect with each other and the rhythms of the earth.
We will have a selection of Equinox themed activities happening throughout the day including:
- Foraging Walk – helping you to identify berries, nuts, edible leaves, and medicinal plants.
- Seed Saving - Learn how to collect, clean, and store seeds from common garden crops (beans, tomatoes, flowers).
- Seed Bomb Making – Using clay, compost, and wildflower seeds for you to make and take home.
- Meet the Animals – Join Birgit to feed the pigs.
- Gratitude Tree - write what you’re grateful for and hang it on our gratitude tree. Choose to burn it later in the fire.
- Self Guided Walks - Wander through the farm at your own pace. Visit the vegetable garden, hens, Jersey cows, and the woodland pigs. Trails are marked for easy navigation.
We’d love to share this seasonal turning with you.
