A Blueprint for an Ancient Future

A Blueprint for an Ancient Future

My Little Farm began with a small field and a simple wish: live closer to what feeds us. We were clumsy at first. We listened. We learned. We kept showing up. Over time the field became a promise: care for the land and it will care for us. Do it together and it will care for our children too.

That promise is widening. Our pilot in East Sussex is more than a place that grows food; it’s the seed of a Sovereign Village. Food at the foundation. Life growing from there. A member-owned place that nourishes, lifts the spirit, and connects us to each other and to something larger than ourselves.

This is real, and it’s for those who want it. We will hold a clear line: keep land out of speculation so homes stay attainable and rooted. Let value live in soil, food, and community. Not in flipping plots. We grow carefully. We ask the landscape what it can hold. We listen to neighbours. If the land and people say yes, we take the next step. If not, we wait.

We envision low, warm homes nestled within hedgerows and orchard edges. Built with natural materials - timber, lime, clay - and ancient craft that ages gracefully. Community kitchens host feasts and skill-sharing. Paths take priority over cars. Water cycles back clean. Energy systems remain independent and repairable.

And always: your own quiet sanctuary to return to. A private threshold. A door that closes. A place to rest, work, and raise a family - held by a village you can join whenever you choose.

Beyond East Sussex we hold a horizon: a network of community-owned farms where families reconnect with land and one another. Not a trend. A long remembering. Regenerative farming. Herbal pastures. High welfare. Real food for a real community.

If this picture stirs something in you, come closer. We’re keeping the deeper work inside the circle so we can build with care and accountability. Our community calls are where we shape next steps - together, calmly, at the speed of trust.

We’ll keep walking the fields at first light. Listening. Learning. Taking the next true step. Thank you for standing with us as this seed becomes a village.

  • Hi.
I love this idea and have a similar vision for up in Derbyshire. I am interested in becoming a member but as I am so far away how much benefit will I get if I can’t physically meet up.

  • I am very interested but can’t visit until the first Saturday in November.
What worries me is what the government are doing to implement control over everyone. How will this impact the land and village you are planning?
