A quick, honest note before Christmas, and a real threshold moment for My Little Farm.
Many of our early members told us you wanted fully customised weekly orders. We listened. We’ve spent the past two years trying to make that work while still holding our promise of food security and beyond-organic standards.
We’ve learned a huge amount. And we need to be straight with you: we can’t make full customisation work while also farming to the highest standards.
Full customised orders pulls us toward an Able & Cole style service: too many product lines, high packing and delivery costs, and less time where we need to be most — on the land, with the animals, growing the harvest.
If we keep pushing that way, we risk the long-term goal: a truly member-owned food system, with sovereignty at its core.
So here’s the plan — and we’re genuinely excited about what it opens up for 2026.
What’s changing
- Final 2025 delivery: Wednesday 17 December (your last box of the year).
- Winter pause: we’ll use the break to settle the herds, finish key infrastructure, and tighten our packing and supply rhythms.
- Relaunch: week beginning 12 January, in a new format built for quality, rhythm, connection and reliability.
(JANUARY LAUNCH)
Introducing the Smallholder Box
This is the core of our journey into 2026. The Smallholder Box is your weekly connection to the smallholding you co-own. One box. One shared harvest. A steady rhythm we all walk together, on the farm and from afar.
Instead of us trying to respond to bespoke orders every week, your farm will send you the very best of what the land is producing right now, in a beautifully complete and nourishing structure.
You’ll eat with the seasons, without the admin. And we’ll grow the farm in the way it’s meant to grow — by focusing on land stewardship and food, first.
A typical box includes:
- Veg from the beds and field-scale plots
- Eggs from our pasture-raised flock
- Meat (rotating cuts across the season)
- Milk & butter secured through our dairy partnership while our herd scales
- Sourdough Loaf
- Herbs
- and something special from the farm — a seasonal tea, tincture, preserve, ferment, or kitchen surprise
The ultimate aim is for every one of these items to come directly from My Little Farm. Until then, we’re launching with Farm First boxes: our harvest is prioritised, and any gaps are transparently filled by trusted regenerative partners. You’ll always know what’s ours, and what’s from our extended farm family.
Why this change matters
Plenty of people have told us a small farm can’t be viable on food alone and that we must subsidise with events or something else. We hear the logic, but it isn’t our north star.
If events pay the bills, our focus will naturally drift.
Our focus needs to remain on farming and food sovereignty.
- Founding Membership is how we secure land and build the farm.
- The Smallholder Box is how we keep the farm alive and our community fed, week in, week out, at the highest standards we can hold.
This shift lets the team do what we’re here to do: steward land, raise animals well, grow nutrient-dense food, and deliver it simply and beautifully.
And it deepens connection in a way we’ve been longing for: one box, one set of recipes, shared learning, connecting online and on-farm, a weekly smallholding rhythm we can all feel part of wherever we live.
Why we’re excited (and we hope you are too)
We’ve been floating this idea with you over the past months and the response has been warm. Thank you. Now we’re ready to commit.
- It puts farming and food back at the centre and protects standards.
- It brings the whole farm to your table with a natural weekly rhythm.
- It connects all of us around a shared seasonal harvest — with recipes, workshops, and real skills we learn together.
Founding Members will get priority for the limited launch, and existing Seasonal Harvest Box subscribers will be moved across automatically unless you tell us otherwise.
Thank you for the patience, the feedback, and the belief. Simplifying now protects what matters most, and sets us up to bring the whole smallholding to your home each week, with pride, in 2026.
