LAUNCHING JANUARY

Smallholder Box

From January, the Smallholder Box becomes our core offering. Each week, receive a full-spectrum box of food raised just for you. All grown and prepared with care, integrity, and a flavour that speaks of the land itself.

Each box contains the following:

Beyond organic vegetables: Your box includes a vibrant selection of seasonal produce grown beyond-organically in healthy, living soil. You'll receive a changing variety of leafy greens such as rocket, kale, lettuce, and mustard leaves. Mineral-rich root vegetables—including heritage carrots, beets, turnips, or potatoes that offer dense flavour and nourishing colour. In summer months, you'll enjoy rotating selections of courgettes, cucumbers, tomatoes, or crisp green beans. Each week also features aromatic alliums like garlic, leeks, or onions, completing your culinary essentials.

Herbs that nourish: You'll also receive a generous bundle of seasonal herbs carefully chosen for their culinary versatility and nutritional benefits. Expect fresh herbs like rosemary, mint, sage, thyme, or oregano—perfect for infusing flavour and nutritional depth into your teas, broths, and dressings, or for drying and preserving to nourish you through the seasons.

Raw milk from heritage cows: You’ll receive raw milk from our small herd of pasture-raised cows. They graze diverse herbal leys, live slowly and naturally, and are never given routine pharmaceuticals. The milk is bottled fresh, unprocessed, and alive with flavour and nutrients. Real milk as nature intended. It’s a weekly staple for drinking, culturing, cheesemaking, or simply pouring over porridge and berries.

Pasture raised heritage breed eggs: Our Light Sussex hens are raised on pasture with space to forage grasses, herbs, and bugs. They are never vaccinated or given pharmaceuticals, producing truly nutrient-dense eggs with deep yolks and rich taste.

Primitive breed meat: You'll enjoy a rotating supply of heritage meats, sourced from animals raised slowly and respectfully on our farm. You’ll receive cuts from our Riggit Galloway beef, a richly marbled native breed raised on diverse herbal pasture with full-bodied flavour. Our woodland-raised native pigs roam freely, producing resilient pork with real taste—lovingly butchered into sausages, chops, and roasts. From the wildflower meadows come our Hebridean lambs, Britain’s oldest native sheep, whose natural grazing restores the land and yields dark, complex meat. And our slow-grown heritage chickens live as nature intended—dust bathing, foraging, and growing at their own pace—offering nourishing, full-flavoured meat delivered whole to honour the bird.

Sourdough loaf: Our artisan sourdough is crafted using traditional slow fermentation, unlocking nutrients and deepening flavour without the need for commercial additives. Baked in small batches with organic, stone-milled flour, each loaf is naturally leavened and hand-shaped to perfection.

Seasonal surprise: Each week, enjoy a seasonal surprise from our smallholding kitchen — from wild ferments like traditional sauerkraut, herb-infused krauts, and pickled vegetables, to handmade sourdough, raw honey, or preserves. These small-batch additions are crafted to support your gut health, nourish your immune system, and bring vibrant, tangy flavour to your meals — a rotating taste of the season, straight from the farm.

Minimum commitment (and why it matters):

Because this is a shared harvest subscription, and because we’re planning livestock, veg successions, and partner allocations around real numbers, we’re asking for:

  • a minimum 13-week commitment (your first season with us), and
  • a maximum of one skip within that period if you need a week off.

This gives the farm the stability it needs to grow well, and gives you the reliability of a food supply you can trust.

Regular price £159.00

Your first box will arrive on Wednesday 14th January and every Wednesday following that. We’ll check in before each delivery so you can add extras.

FIRST BOX SURPRISE — A Farm-Made Gift from the Forest Garden

To celebrate the very first Smallholder Boxes, your January box will include a small bottle of St John’s Wort oil, made by Julia from this year’s solstice-harvested flowers grown in our forest garden.

It’s a little taste of what we mean by bringing the farm to life: not just food, but the seasons, the plants, and the people stewarding the land you co-own. Traditionally, St John’s Wort oil is seen as “stored sunlight” for the darker months, often used to support seasonal low mood/SAD and to soothe skin and tired muscles when applied topically.

We’ll also be running a St John’s Wort oil-making workshop, so you can learn the craft with us, year on year.

Delivery Disclaimer: All boxes are dispatched from the farm on Tuesday afternoons via APC’s 24-hour service. While most deliveries arrive on Wednesday, once your box leaves us, it’s in the hands of the courier — and we can’t guarantee next-day arrival. Thank you for your understanding and patience.
